Rutilated Quartz

Want to stop beating around the bushes and get to the real root of a problem. A great crystal ally for this is Rutilated Quartz. This mineral included quartz is composed primarily of titanium dioxide, one of the highest refractive substances for visible wavelengths of light. That’s a nice way of saying it shiny. And thus, the energy. Rutile helps us aim direct energy at a problem. Like a spotlight beam, it gets to the center of a problem without any other distractions.

Most natural Rutile contains about 10% iron. That’s a great grounder. But there something much more magical afoot.

It also contains Niobian, a metal named for Niobe, who was the daughter of Tantalus. He was a Greek mythological figure most famous for his eternal punishment. He was chained to a tree over a pool of water. The fruit filled branches were just out of reach and the water was too low for him to drink. Niobe was known as a brooder of continual sorrow. Kind of a double bummer. But if either could have seen the light at the end of the tunnel, it may have been a different story.

At the physical level, Rutilated Quartz is said to be beneficial for food disorders and the immune system a good old-fashioned tonic for well-being for the entire body. Rutilated can also act as sort of a diagnostic tool to help us look deeper into an issue. All the while retaining a very strong ground.

Rutilated Quartz also helps the mind focus at a higher level, and stimulates creativity. It encourages us to get outside of the box and change perspective. A really great combination for life’s challenges.

Pairing Rutilated Quartz with other high vibrational stones (Scolocite, Apophyllite, Rose Quartz, Danburite) adds a lot of energy to crown chakra spiritual connection. Letting it work alongside appropriate chakra stones heightens the experiences and removes blocks. Try it with a Shaman Journey stone for out of body work, or just enjoy the zing all by itself.
